Residential Treatment Program
Client Centered Recovery
Madrona Recovery offers mental health, trauma, and recovery services. We value each youth’s personal investment in safety, growth, skill development, and community building at Madrona Recovery, we do not rely on rewards, punishment, seclusion, or physical restraints. Instead, we work with youth to create greater awareness and skill to manage challenging experiences. We provide young people in recovery with opportunities to practice making different choices and discovering practices that are helpful to them.
Our program is designed to align with Trauma and Resiliency Informed Practices and we have a high staff-to-client ratio allowing us to provide individualized care. Our clients receive treatment 7 days a week, including multiple contacts with their individual therapist through the week, weekly family therapy sessions, daily group therapy, education, and skill building opportunities.
Madrona Recovery is committed to our mission to provide high-quality care that stabilizes youth, educates families, and increases long-term success. Our program is designed to help young people to identify and develop practical, but fundamentally useful skills in emotional regulation, kind and direct communication, healthy relationships, and more.
Emotional Regulation
Young people will develop increased mindfulness as we practice paying attention to difficult emotions, and slowing reactive responses. Emotional Regulation, the ability to weather everyday ups and downs with ease, is a powerful way to support drug refusal and promote wholesome choices. We take a trauma and resiliency informed approach to our work so that together we can disrupt habitual and destructive responses to discomfort.
Direct Communication
Madrona Recovery expects young people to learn and practice kind, direct communication, even when stakes are high. For many of us, high stakes communication has been destructive. Using specific techniques and with our community support, young people will discover how to say and hear difficult things, with an aim toward better understanding and stronger relationships.
Relationships
The Madrona Recovery Community is structured to enlist the support of community in order to provide real opportunities for young folks to practice conflict resolution, offer and receive peer support, and understand healthy boundary setting in a safe and supportive environment.
